This year’s Earth Month theme underscores the impact each person can have on the planet, regardless of the scale of their actions. Collectively, these efforts can drive substantial positive change. Our social media content for the month of April will focus on four categories: eco products, activities and actions, conservation, and sustainable habits.

April 1st – Welcome Earth Month

April 2nd – Mother Earth Tea Feature

Prepare to discover the remarkable impact of Mother Earth tea bags. Stay tuned as we reveal how these eco-friendly brews not only boost your health but also protect our planet.

 

April 4th – Fresh Wife Refillery Feature & Sale

April 12th Community Cleanup

Join us on Sunday, April 12, for our 3rd annual community cleanup!

Meeting location: Tri-Services Park parking lot (the park & green space near the Ponoka Hospital)

Meeting time: 10:00 am (there is no end time, as we will stay until we finish up the area)

  • Members of the public are free to leave anytime
  • Garbage bags and sanitary disposable gloves will be provided
    • You are welcome to bring your own gardening or work gloves
    • As always, this event is open to everyone
      • Feel free to bring your friends and family
      • We invite other businesses, clubs and organizations to join us

 

April 14th – Shopping Local for a Sustainable Future

Discover how your purchasing decisions can have a significant impact on the environment and learn strategies for supporting local businesses.

 

Conservation:

April 16th-25th – Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation Spotlight

We are delighted to feature the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation (AIWC) in our conservation spotlight for Earth Month!

Follow our and AIWC’s social media channels during this period to learn about AIWC’s crucial work, the reasons behind the high volume of baby wildlife intakes in spring, and additional insights.

Bottle Drive

  • Please consider donating your recyclable bottles on Friday, April 24th, from 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Proceeds will support AIWC’s Baby Shower Fundraiser, ultimately helping to care for newborn wildlife.

 

Earth Day Social Media Photo Contest:

April 22ndEarth Day Social Media Photo Contest

Participate in our Earth Day photo contest for a chance to win a fantastic prize package! Submit your photo on April 22nd via our social media platforms: Instagram (@altitudespaponoka) and/or Facebook (Altitude Spa). All entries across both platforms will be combined for a random selection of the winner, which will be announced on our social media channels on April 26th. The contest is open all day on April 22nd, from 12:00 am to 11:59 pm.

Contest Rules for Valid Entries:

  • To participate, you must be following our social media channels: Instagram @altitudespaponoka and/or Facebook @Altitude Spa
  • Like the April 22nd post.
  • For Facebook: Submit your photo via Messenger.
  • For Instagram: Share your photo in your story and tag @altitudespaponoka.
  • Submit on both platforms for a second entry (photos can differ).
  • Submit only one photo per platform.
  • Photos must feature natural content only (no AI images, motorized vehicles, phones, etc.). People, pets, wildlife, bikes, tents, canoes, and kayaks are allowed. Photos can be from any time or place.

 

Habits (Sustainable):

April 27th – Embracing Sustainability: Transition to Reusable Hand Towels in Staff Areas

Learn how we have opted to replace disposable paper towels with reusable hand towels in our staff spaces.

 

April 28th – Celebrating Our Green Team

From April 1st to 25th, Team Altitude will transform into the Green Team by engaging in daily activities to accumulate points for sustainable practices, all competing for an outstanding prize(s). Discover who will be this year’s winner(s).

 

April 29th – Sparkling Clean, Sustainably Green

We are implementing a new, eco-friendly approach to our daily operations at Altitude Spa. Stay tuned to discover what we have changed and our review.

 

Closing:

April 30th – Closing Out Earth Month

We will conclude Earth Month by announcing the total funds raised from our bottle drive for the Alberta Institute for Wildlife Conservation (AIWC).
